Inspiration

The design for the 2020 USA Surf team stems from ocean swell maps. The quality of waves at a surf spot depends on the swell direction and the wind and weather play a big role into the conditions. Ocean swell maps are vibrant and aesthetically pleasing. This design merges the color morphing swell maps with the color of the US flag. Ultimately designing an interesting graphic that stems from the ocean as well as including the colors of the USA surf team.
